AGRICULTURAL GRADER/INSPECTOR C 81316 H

 

Distinguishing Features of the Work

Supervises the grading, inspection, and certification of selected agricultural commodities performed by graders/inspectors at lower levels.

Trains and evaluates graders/inspectors in interpretation of grades, standards, and procedures as set forth for the program. May either perform independent regulatory inspection functions (i.e. apples), or evaluate program and personnel performances for effectiveness and results. Establishes work schedules for best utilization to meet industry needs. May also be required to collect market price information for further dissemination in certain programs.

General direction is received from a higher level supervisor in a specific geographic area.

 

Qualification Guide

Possession of state and federal license or certification in specific commodities pertaining to work function. Leadership qualifications for working with employees and industry personnel. Proficiency in interpreting changed and new grades and standards. A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major studies in related field is preferred.
