Distinguishing Features of the Work

Directs the administration of citizen services or administrative services for the agency.

The incumbent is responsible for future planning for agency services and programs within the assigned areas. Responsibility exists for analyzing proposed legislative changes, formulating position papers on proposed legislation, and advising the Commissioner of the impact of such changes on agency programs. Additional responsibilities include advising the Commissioner and Deputy Commissioner on effects that social, economical, and political trends and events will have on Division activities and representing the agency in external matters as designated by the Commissioner or Deputy Commissioner.

Work is performed under the general direction of the Division of Motor Vehicles Commissioner.

 

Qualification Guide

Knowledge of large-scale organizational functions related to administrative procedures and systems, laws, and regulations affecting operations; knowledge of management principles and the legislative process. Skill in oral and written communication for business presentations and reporting. Ability to apply accounting economic, and legal knowledge to the administration of public sector programs; ability to analyze statutes and determine administrative policies and procedures; ability to analyze social, economic and political trends and events, organizational and statistical data to develop, monitor and adjust long-range business plans and solve major management problems; ability to develop and adjust management techniques, support procedures, and controls to achieve agency objectives; ability to evaluate the performance of large organizational units; ability to plan and coordinate organizational activities of major impact and direct individuals in their work.
