This class is distinguished from the Corrections Institution Rehabilitation Supervisor class by its responsibility to provide direct counseling assistance and services to adult and youth offenders.

DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE WORK

Complexity of Work: Performs work of moderate difficulty in the provision of a full range of rehabilitative services to include designing, implementing and monitoring individual treatment plans based on the specific needs of each offender. Counsels offenders in problem resolution, development of short and long range goals, and in gaining understanding of institutional guidelines for acceptable behavior. Performs case management functions including monitoring custody status; assisting with personal arrangements; making institutional job placements; recommending plans for pre-release and parole; evaluating offenders' progress in treatment program(s); and maintaining documentation and case records.
