Distinguishing Features of the Work
Repairs, maintains, and installs machinery in a large commercial-type laundry.
The duties involve serving as z specialist for the repair of a variety of mechanical, electrical, and electronic laundry machinery or as a working lead man utilizing the services of two to five inmates in the completion of major overhauling of heavy machinery. This class is distinguished from the class Laundry Mechanic by the responsibility for installing large and complex laundry machinery and repairing and maintaining difficult electronic devices and circuits which control modern laundry equipment operations. General supervision is received from a Laundry Manager C, but a high degree of independence is required in planning and executing a technical maintenance program.

Qualification Standards
Completion of elementary school and three years of experience as a qualified mechanic on laundry equipment and machinery and one year of experience in the repair of hydraulic and/or pneumatic systems associated with electronic controlled systems.
Considerable knowledge of the component parts of laundry machinery and their functions, ability to plan and lay out work, ability to perform heavy manual labor.
