Distinguishing Features of the Work

Researches, analyzes and develops Disability Determination, Division policies and procedures for staff development, quality assurance, training and medical relations programs.

The work involves formulating training curricular for in-service training and interpreting and implementing division policies. Responsibility is included for conducting division research projects involving program management or development of the disability adjudicative process. Analyzes monthly and quarterly quality assurance reports to identify deficiencies and recommend improvements. General supervision is received from senior division staff.

 

Qualification Guide

Considerable knowledge of the statutes, rules and regulations governing the Social Security Administration program of disability compensation, as well as considerable knowledge of all types of disability claims processes. Ability to research, analyze and interpret highly technical subjects. The ability to express oneself clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing, and to work closely with various levels of administrative and professional personnel, as well as members of the medical community, are required.
