Distinguishing Features of the Work

Administers a principal activity or aspect of an agency's total pharmacy program.

The scope of responsibility may include: training and supervising a professional and non-professional staff; budgeting and expending funds; developing and administering procedures and standards; interfacing with other agency administrators and professionals; preparing or overseeing the preparation of reports and records; and performing professional duties incident to the activity supervised.

Reports to a higher level pharmacist or other medical professional.

 

Qualification Guide

Possession of a registered pharmacist's license issued by the Virginia State Board of Pharmacy, and prior relevant pharmacist experience. Ability to train and supervise professional and non-professional staff. Appropriate general management skills.
