Provides dental care services for patient/residents in State hospitals or facilities.

The work may involve oral examination and diagnosis, X-ray work, restoration and removal of teeth, bridge work, treatment of oral disease and minor oral surgery. May train and supervise dental assistants, and maintain dental records.

Receives general direction from a Clinic or Facility Director.

Graduation from a recognized School of Dentistry, and licensed to practice in the State of Virginia. Knowledge of the principles and practices of preventative and corrective dentistry and oral hygiene. Ability to diagnose and treat dental deficiencies.
