Distinguishing Features of the Work

 

Assists an Alcoholic Beverage Control Store Manager B in managing a large, complex retail store.

 

Assists in training and supervising ABC Store Clerks. Reports to the Store Manager.

 

The work includes assisting in the management of various aspects of store operations. Some of the duties may be performed relatively independently because of the store’s size and complexity.

 

Functional areas involved include merchandise receiving and shipping, shelf stocking and pricing, and customer service and relations. Employee training, scheduling and supervising typically are an important aspect of the duties because of the large employee staff involved. Accountability for large cash receipts and complex operating records resulting from high unit sales of varied merchandise lines are also a feature of the work.

 

Must be prepared to assume charge of the store during certain shifts, or during the Manager’s absence.

 

 

Qualification Guide

 

Knowledge of retail store operations. Ability to function in all aspects of the management of a high-volume, diversified store. Ability to train and supervise a large Store Clerk staff. Ability to handle customer relations.

 

Graduation from high school, and experience related to the position’s duties, including supervisory experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
