Distinguishing Features of the Work

 

Supervises the supply stock room in storing and distributing supplies and equipment for Department needs.

 

Examples of duties characteristic of positions in this class:

 

  1. Supervises all activity of supply stock room, office and store sections. Supervises filling of supply invoices to all stores, district offices and main offices. Coordinates or makes deliveries when necessary.

  3. Coordinates incoming stock shipments with trucking and railroad shippers to insure most efficient handling. Checks shipments for accuracy. Prepares receiving reports on incoming shipments and forwards to main office to support vendors’ invoices. Assists the Assistant Director and/or State Auditors in periodic inventories. Coordinates transfer of ABC surplus articles.

  5. Maintains purchase order and requisition files for supplies and equipment ordered. Maintains other necessary files including list of furniture in need of repair.

  7. Directs work of supply stock room employees; responsibilities include employment, training, performance evaluation and discipline.

 

 

Qualification Standards

 

Graduation from high school or equivalent and four years’ experience in supply, equipment or parts control function. Additional education may be substituted for experience on an equivalent time basis not to exceed two years; supervisory or administrative experience is desired.
